Sponsor a Child in Need

Growing up in poverty, children face tough challenges: hunger and malnutrition, limited access to education and medical services, social discrimination and isolation. When you sponsor a child, you create a powerful multiplier effect. You help them see beyond the daily struggles of life in poverty. Your support releases them from a cycle of short-term decisions and helps them gain the ability to begin contributing to their own families and communities. Your Sponsorship gives Children in need opportunities to learn and grow physically, mentally and spiritually.

Meet the Children

Trina

. Trina is from a family of 11 in the slums of Nakulabye. They were supported by their single handed Mother until she got ill and left the Children under the care of their 16year old sibling, Noel. However, Noel also started her own journey after her boyfriend who had promised to extend her support for her siblings got her pregnant. This family has long been on our care program and so far 3 of Trina's siblings have sponsors and receive support from LLIAM. Trina urgently needs a sponsor to be able continue with her education.

Nooh

Nooh is a very bright boy, and we see he has a bright future ahead of him. Him and his 3 siblings have been under the care of LLIAM after being referred to us by a community worker for care and support. Nooh's Mother doesn't have a steady income to be able meet the increasing school fees Nooh needs for Secondary school. Being the oldest of his siblings we believe this sponsorship will turn around his life and that of his family.

Majorine

At 6 months old Majorine was referred to LLIAM after her 15 year old Mother innocently ran away from home in fear that her young aged boyfriend who denied responsibility of pregnancy and fatherhood would be jailed. Majorine was abandoned at her Grandmother who doesn't work and can hardly meet Majorine's needs. From 6 months until now Majorine is under LLIAM care. She needs a loving sponsor to support with her needs and give her a chance to go to school.

Tertiary and Vocational Support

Education is often an unaffordable luxury for children living in poverty, and a lack of education creates a lack of options. It makes finding future work difficult, and it makes children vulnerable to exploitation. With skills development, you help a youth become more self reliant, productive and this releases them from a cycle of short-term decisions and helps them gain the ability to begin contributing to their own families and communities. It costs between $90- 120 USD a month to sponsor a Child at this level.
